I have a 1999 V70 and after you start it, it will take several minutes before the radio, heater fan, dash lights, wipers, etc... work. Takes longer when colder. I suspect sticky relay (ah but which one) or has anyone else had this problem? Thanks, MArk

The heater fan works that way because it makes no sense to blow ice cold air. On the other hand, the lights, wipers, etc should start immediately upon demand. I would look for a loose connector or as you said a relay.

Yes, the alternator can cause electrical accessories to act three kinds of crazy if it's not putting out right away. The vehicle's electrical system will go into "stay alive" mode and cut off non-essential functions. Saw this happen with my '82 Caddy. Alternator caused loss of radio, lights, wipers, etc., intermittently as it got worse and worse.
