I will not be using my S Class for a couple of months this winter. Would the car's electronics be adversely affected if I remove the battery and keep it on charge?

Fill the fuel tank completely (eliminate moisture), lift auto and place on blocks so tires don't touch the ground (keeps from getting "flat" spots) and then disconnect battery from auto. Move cables away from battery (securely) AND THEN attach battery to "Battery Tender" which will keep the battery up to charge while your away. If you don't have one, go get a battery "maintainer" which I use "Battery Tender" found at any auto parts store, Wal-Marts or online at "www.BatteryTender.com".

Many thanks for these suggestions. Most are very useful. However, due to the severe slope of my driveway, blocking up the car may not be possible. Also, as an alternative to purchasing and using a battery maintainer, I would be interested in knowing whether anyone recommends taking the battery off the car while it's off the road? This would ensure the car is disabled and would act as a security measure.

The tires tend to take a set and then leak air, so if possible you should put the car on stands or if you have a trusted friend ask them to take it for a short drive (about 5 miles) once every two or three weeks.
