CAR WON'T START, HELP!!!

Asked by Cookie876 Dec 23, 2015 at 12:24 AM about the 2001 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 C180 classic, put the key in the ignition and lights and radio come on, battery tested and OK, steering lock unlocks OK but key seems to get stuck on the crank position so key is turned all the way as far as it can go and stays there so the car is revving, doesn't click back so the car turns over. Car won't come out of park so I can't even move it out of the way to access my other car. I only have 1 key. Does this sound like a key problem or a mechanical problem? It has only done 100,000kms/62,000 miles

Could be a key or ignition issue

any problem with a car is mechanical however it sounds more like an ignition problem involving the cumblers in the ignition column.

Turns out it was the fuel filter and the fuel pump had a couple of burnt out wires All fixed now though Thanks!
