Does the service indicator acts as a immobiliser?

I have a Merc C180 1999 model,took it for a 10000km service,they forgot to reset the
service indicator.After a few thousand k's it started to run only for about 4 kms and then
stall.Now it wont start.All I want know is if the service indicator might act as a immobilliser  
for safety precautions?
