go to Edmunds.com and you can rate it yourself, I went there before I knew the whole question. the value of the car in average condition with am/fm, auto trans and a/c with 100,000 miles on it in average condition was between $125 and $295. Or you can go to Kelley Blue Book. A bit facetiously here, most people would want you to give them money to take it off your hands.

Thank you for your replies but I was right the higher value that they gave for the car even though incorrect prevented him from receiving SSDI. Now neither of these cars is reliable enough for him to drive to the VA for medical services. SS suggestion was for him to apply for food stamps. With great humility he did only to find he was only eligible for $17.00 dollars worth. But since he had worked all his life and served his country when asked and for the last 12 years when he could not work because of the pain he stayed with our father so he would not be alone and helped him the best he could until our fathers death last year at the age of 89. Because he did not work the system 28 years ago when he was first wounded in Vietnam, because he tried to continue to work through his pain and go to school and take care of his kids. He found out when he applied for that $17.00 dollars that he was not eligible because he was not in the system. The VA says he is not eligible for all his disability because he did not go to the doctor enough and complain enough even though it would have cost him his job he had for 20 years. He worked until they realized he could not keep up because of pain issues. So now he has finally 50% from the VA I think to make us go away for a while. And O% of his social security because of a $150.00 car valued at over $900.00 which is about what he makes a month. It's not fair people it's not fair.

She got me out of many tight traffic jams because I could turn her completely around in a tight space if someone had me blocked in. she got excellent gas mileage and never broke down. Today she still runs but my brother who I gave her too when I needed a bigger car for my job, only drives her a mile or two for fear of blowing her well worn 29 year old engine. Everyone I know who drove her fell in love with her. My father who was an auto mechanic quit driving when he taught me to drive when I was16 years old because he hated it so much. He started back driving when I gave him the colt to drive. He loved her said she was perfect. My twin nieces and nephew learned to drive with her and they also fell in love with her ease of driving ability and reliability. No you are wrong you got the lemon version it was not the Mitsubishi just a dodge colt. Sorry about that. Yes he is allowed a car but if it brings your assets value above a certain amount you are denied your money. So they valued it higher than what’s it worth because they could not find its true value so they went with what the last dodge colt car 1990 worth that was listed in the blue book. Totally unfair. They did not care that it was wrong. Nor that we had a mechanic statement arguing the fact in our favor.
