73 Dart

Asked by Patrickjubm Oct 17, 2009 at 09:17 PM about the 1973 Dodge Dart

Question type: Car Customization

I'm having a 360 Dodge motor rebuilt and I'm looking for a recipe to get
around 325 to 350 horses. I was wondering what the best Cam, Intake and Carb would be to reach my goal. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Patrick

a cam is up to how you want it to idle and preform...i race mine and have nitrous with a similar power mark to you and i run a .501 lunati...but the idle is a little choppy so if you're just street driving the thing you might wanna settle for something more in the .460 lift range...for it to still sound like it has some thunder i wouldn't drop below a .450 or so lift, you're stock under that...edelbrock performer is a good intake...weiand also makes a good one...as for a carb i'd go with a 750 holley...if you plan on opening it up or racing it( you can always jet down if it seems to be rich)...again if its only street a 650 holley would also do the job...i'd stay away from the edelbrock carb as a side tip...unless you need a good door stop.lol anything else just ask, i have a dart myself and went through the same thing
