what can anyone tell me about a daytona shelby with "Day2D" listed under the series on a title?

Asked by PontiacMommy May 11, 2012 at 12:54 AM about the 1989 Dodge Daytona

Question type: General

Trying to figure out what trim this particular car is.  The registration and title both
say"Day2D" listed under the series.   Not familiar enough with the car (& I am not a car
person) to know which one of the assorted daytona's this may be.  Also, are the original
wheels cast aluminum?  The wheels have a SD etched on them so I assume they are
original.  Also has pin stripping on the lower part of the doors and the running board.
Was this standard for Daytona Shelby in '89?  And last what are the most common fixes
that the 89s are known for.

Day2D is "Daytona two door", and not sure on factory pinstrips but they were all two tone paint upper and lower different colors. And the wheels were all 5 star aluminum, the SD in the center is Shelby Daytona, hope this helps.
