check for a bad resistance in the ignition wire from the ignition switch going to the coil. There is an inline resistor which should drop the amperage going to the ignition coil ,to keep it from overheating, and this resistor wire may be the blame.
Why would it spark when it's out and you turn it bye hand it's a perfect spark I put it back in the truck and it has nothing would a resiste cause that

I had a 86 ramcharger that would not start sometimes or would shut down on the road. I was messing with a coil wire one time it broke down and accidentally touched a screwdriver to the + side and it sparked but the switch was off. I tried to start it and it did, after a few times of no starts and shutting off on me and i would have to do, I guess discharge the coil. I put a new coil on but it did the same. Then I bought a new distributor and it fixed it. Weird. Just some info for y'all.thanks.
I changed out all of the worn suspension in the front passenger side (Ball joints, bearings,Center control arm ect...) And got it back together and now I have no spark??? WTF anyway NO SPARK sooo where to start??
