should long as there both the same engine however 360s and 318s are interchangeable as far as that goes
i am talking about the 4 cylinder trucks. not the ram 150's
Not sure but I do know that all km 145s are not the same they are a simple tranny to work on tho I never been in one before that one I swapped the guts out of one out of a raider that was hydraulic clutch the input shaft , input Bering , and Bering retainer plate was different
if both are a KM145 transmission, then yes it will fit. the only thing that changes is the emissions stuff, the 87 got a ton of vacum lines and a electronic carb to help with emissions standards, as well as an upgraded egr system, larget cat and resonator, and a muffler redesigned to 6" longer than before and way more restrictive. the 82 made like 100 hp and 140 torque, the 87 made 90 and 135. there was a fuel injected version that made 100/135 but in 88 or 89 the carb was removed. and it made 95/130.
the gear ratios are as follows: manual trans (KM145) 1st = 3.967 2nd = 2.136 3rd = 1.360 4th = 1.000 5th = 0.856 Rev = 3.578 Transfer case LOW range = 1.944 : 1 Differential = 4.625
ok one is a KM132 one is a KM145, as long as the are both narrow block or both wide block, you will be fine. the KM145 is the better trans though, it is better geared
