how to change the water pump on an 89 dodge caravan v6?

the water pump on my 89 dodge caravan needs to be replaced.  How can i do this, or should a mechanic tackle the job?  It is a 6 cyclinder, EFI, automatic drive.

Hi mabby! It's not the easiest job in the world, but not the toughest either. Given the tight quarters here though you may want to let a pro handle it. Still, you can take a ride to your local libray or local big-box parts store and take a look in the Chilton's for your Caravan and see how tough the job looks and then you can decide from there whether you want to take it on.
