Not shifting

Hello, I'm not sure if yours is an automatic or manual truck, so the shifting can have different connotations. Regardless, this is a 2007 and there is no way you should be having any problems yet. I recommend going back to the dealer immediately and having them look at the truck to determine the problem. If they are not willing to help, escalate to Dodge at the corporate level. If it's only happened once, you may want to wait to see if it happens again, then document exact situation (e.g. accelerating up hill in rain) so you have an even stronger case. CarGrrl

I have recently purchased an 07 automatic Dakota V6.With less than 700 Miles twice it would not shift. After stopping and restarting this corrects problem. Of course the dealer could not repeat problem. (no error message) The dealer has hooked up a recorder that I can engage if problem re-Occurs.

Sounds like you may be in need of having your Transmission Control Module re-flashed at the dealership. Also, check to make sure that you are fully engaged in drive, reverse, etc. I had a 1998 Chrysler Sebring that did not shift out of park once or twice. Placing the vehicle in park firmly, then shutting off and restarting, cured the problem.
