we are looking at a 1989 Jeep Wrangler for sale

Jeep in pristine condition.  seller has replaced stock transmission with a 4 speed manual "geared lower for improved performance off road and on".  Buying for our son who's turning 16....drives on roads.  Would this be a good idea or bad? (4 speed conversion)

Do not buy this one.people playing with trannys are not a good sign.if you had a problem it is a 2500 fix.thats going backwards in my book
