When were 1987 models for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer first originally released?

Asked by danmacleod1986 Feb 02, 2013 at 09:49 PM about the 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer

Question type: General

I have been told that 1987 models for the Jeep Grand Wagoneer were released in mid-September by one
source, and from another that it was typically mid-October. Which of the two was it? I would like to hear
from somebody or some source that knows the answer to this for a fact, please.

It was typical for new models to come out in the fall. There could be a build date in the VIN and on the drivers side door decal. Check in at JeepForum.com if no one has a definite answer here.

I don't remember any more. In 1978 I ordered a new Jeep Cherokee and ended up with a 1979 model because it was too late. Why do you need to know the month?
