Dear GaryAu- The last year for the split rear window in the Volkswagen Beetlewas 1952, meaning that 1953 saw the introduction of the larger pane. Good luck from Bovan.

Hey Gary! In 1953 VW replaced the original two-piece window with a single oval one. Your 1954 version was marked with a significant boost in hp thanks to the fact the engine grew to a 1.2Ls with increased valve size and increased compression ratio. Your 1954 is a veritable beast at a full 36 hp! Be careful! Hope that helps!

Now I'm hearing that 1952 was the last year of the split rear window I've owned a 62 and 63 ragtop sunroof and the 62 until the mid 80's and 63 in the 90's but all the back since the early seventies I thought the last year of the split was 56. Hmmm ? I guess I was wrong.
