what is the cost to restore a 1967 bug?

hello mtbkr-- I would say that is a very open ended question. Of course it depends on how much restoration you have in mind. There is a good book available at Amazon for less than $20 called the VW Beetle Restoration Handbook. I would also suggest that you consult with your local body shop for starters and then research your plans online, particularly at the various specialty parts shops available online. I had a 1967 Beetle and the way I cared for it meant that it needed restoration after just a year or two. Good luck from Bovan.

My shop specializes in body off rotisserie style restoration. So were talking metal work, body, paint, rubber, and cleaning up your glass unless you want new glass. Body/paint is 70 to 85 per hour and assembly is $95 per hour and of course we make a list of all new parts needed that we don't have In Stock. And collaborate and you'll visit our showroom and order all parts needed and pay for it yourself and have it drop shipped to us, saving you the 39% retail mark up by acquiring them your self. A typical restoration in this style averages about 50k and upwards of 90k depending on how wild you want to go bit a regular restoration is ballpark 50k. Pur work is top notch which is why we have clientel from California and all over the U.s. and even are doing builds for some gentleman in England as well as the island of Guam. There are plenty of vw shops but to draw customers from all over the world means our work speaks for itself.
