which way does the engine turn (open hood looking at it)

from back of the dog house to the rear bumper the piston next to the dog house passenger side is #1 piston. #2 is the one right behind it. #3 is on the drivers side next to the dog house. #4 is the drivers side in the rear strait accross from the #2 piston. the firing order is 1-4-3-2. On the distribitor pull off the cap and look for a notch on the edge of wehe the cap sits that is whete the #1 coil wire needs to be. ffrom there going clock wise put the wires from the piston #1-4-3-2 that is the order you need..

correct UNLESS your distributor has been changed out for a different model, OR your motor has ever been gone thru and somebody put the distributor drive gear in a tooth or two off (or 180* out!). the pulley will turn clockwise as your looking at it.
