Paid about $2,000 with a couple of extras and sales taxes. Bought brand new in Lafayette, Louisiana

My 1968 White VW cost $1750.00 and I believe the $50.00 bucks was for the optional crank open sunroof.......car payment was $35 bucks. My 1998 VW cost roughly $17,500.00 oddly enough. Gregg
