Need the schematic for a 1969 VW Beetle dashboard

I have a 65 Bug and when I put it in first it will move but not that far with our something rattling around. Right now it's not drivable. It does the same thing in reverse. The trany is brand new and I have no problems shifting. Any ideas what this may be?
