A 1969 Beetle would have originally come with a single-port engine, but the twin-port engine is better. It may have been fitted with twin-port heads at some stage, but it''s pretty easy to tell the difference by looking at the inlet manifolds anyway. This stuff is very easy to find on the internet, google is your friend.
