my 1969 vw beetles brake pedal is stuck down after i brake

after i brake my pedal doesnt come back up i have to manually pull it back up with my
foot. what might cause this problem.

Mine has the same problem. We switched out the spring but it still gets stuck and we have to pull the petal back. HELP!
