I buy parts from JBugs.com, West Coast Metric (particularly rubber parts) Bug Pack and Mid America Motor works. There are some vendors that sell German parts but they are pricey. Be careful; a lot of Chinese parts are starting to hit the market. Some of them don't fit as well as others (sheetmetal).

There are also some crazy good salvage yards out there for the hard to find parts...many pull and ship to you. I don't know where in Texas you are, but up in Oklahoma near Lexington-Purcell is Wilson's Auto salvage...they have something like 50 acres of old VWs. Check 'em out.

Wilson's has sold out. As you may know he was killed in a plane crash and his son-on-law was handling clearing out the yard. I do know a person in Purcell that is an excellent source of salvage parts and be glad to pass his name on to you.
