when i turn the key on my 73 bug sometimes it will start and other times it does nothing

I thought it was my clutch not engaging but i replaced the cable and it is still doing it. It will start with no problem
sometimes and other times i will turn the key and it does nothing, no clicking or any thing

You might check the starter wires. There are three small ones and a large battery cable attached to the starter. Make sure the small wires are making good contact with their respective posts. Good luck
