1974 super beelte not starting

1974 vw super beetle. I turn the key, no lights on
the dash, no engine cranking, no clicking. There
was a burnt wire leading from the ignition coil to
the fuse box, I think fuse 12. Fuses look okay. I
replaced the wire but that didnt do anything.

Do u know why the wire got burnt to begin with? Check battery connections. Get out your voltage meter and check all wire's going to the fuse box.. u can check voltage regulator as well. Good luck
