location of fuel filter

Asked by smino21 Jan 31, 2010 at 12:53 PM about the 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 1985 VW Vanagon has a clogged fuel filter.  I'm still waiting on my repair manual, and have
been unable to locate this fuel filter on my van.  I'd like to replace it as soon as possible.

Can anyone help me track down its location?

Passenger side frame rail toward the inside, should be one right before the pump. The pump should run for a little when you turn on the key. Make sure the pump runs first
