How do I rid my 2007 MX-5 of excessive interior moisture?

Asked by wetfoot Sep 03, 2013 at 08:29 PM about the 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Under both floor mats and under the carpet in the truck I often find that area is damp to wet.  It does not appear to be due to a leak for the seats and the rest of the interior are dry.  The soft top is in good shape.

Rear rain rail is a common leak spot especially on cars older than 10 years.

Had the same problem with my 2007 MX-5. There is what I call an intricate drainage system beginning at the back/bottom of the soft top. Runs all the way down to the bottom. Miata did not do a recall, however posted detail on repair. Just a matter of cleaning. The system get full of debris.
