1986 Nissan 300zx 3.0

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought the car a couple months ago and
drove it home. Guy said it needed just new
spark plugs and wires, because there was a
miss in it. So I ended up putting new wires,
plugs and distributor cap on the car. One day
I go to start my car for work and it’s dead. So
I jump it, starts up like nothing is wrong and
drives fine. Turn the car off and is completely
dead again. So I was told it was the
alternator, so I put a new alternator on it. The
same thing keeps happening. I have to jump
it in order for it to start, but won’t stay
running. And if it dies, or I shut it off it keeps
repeating itself. What do you suggest it could
be?

Thank you for your reply. So your saying it could be a timing belt, where could I find a good cheap one of those?
