You're thinking that the 86 ZX is much newer than it really is... there is no BCM. Everything works with plain wires and switches... no microcontrollers at all. Even the ECM is analog. What problem are you trying to take care of????

Actually the module in question is called an ECU or Engine Control Unit. This unit controls the spark, ignition timing and the fuel injection pulses to the spark plugs in the engine. The Nissan 300 ZX 3.0 Litre is a naturally aspirated single overhead cam configuration engine, featuring EFI or Electronic Fuel Injection. This engine is also known as the VG30E. This car is also called the Z-31 (1983-1989) generation of Nissan's sports car. This car sold in Japan as the Fairlady Z, hence the Z designation. A bit of trivia for the Nissan Z enthusiast - this car in racing trim has acheived notable victories by winning the 1986 Trans Am series, the 1994 24 Hours of Daytona and also holds the E/BMS land speed record of 419.84 km/h (260.87 mph) Quite an impressive racing heritage, indeed! The location of the ECU is on the passenger side of the auto , located under the kick panel.
