how much is my 82 pontiac 6000le worth?

That vehicle should be in a museum if its a true 8500 miles, but I'm thinking more like 85000 or 185000 miles to be honest. If you think about it, that's less than 258 miles driven on it every year. If it sat outside then the paint should be dull, the brakes rotted, the unibody chassis falling aparts and so forth just due to exposure of the elements, and there's no getting around it. If it was stored indoors, it must have been a climate-controller showroom for some crazy collector, or someone in a coma for about 33 years. Aside from all this, they were fantastic cars if equipped with their 2.8L V6, otherwise the I-4 or larger V6 engines were pure junk. Parts are still widely available for them, including body parts. They are a very reliable vehicle with lots of room inside, comfortable, cheap to insure, and fairly good on gas as long as you don't drive with a lead foot, speed like an idiot, or abuse it. Like every car made in the 80's, these consumer grade entry cars weren't meant to take abuse, just use them as a daily driver. Solid transmission, 2.8L V6 is a good engine, nice A/C, and so forth. The 2 door models have very heavy doors, even with manual windows, so change the door pins when they start to feel loose or sag. Service the engine and tranny meticulously, and don't over-rev or over-heat the engine. The rad is the only weak link. Replace it with an aftermarket maxi-core rad and a decent thermostat and you should be good for years. Their big-brother was the Chevrolet Celebrity, and the 6000LE with the Eurosport package and factory aluminum rims looks nice and sharp. Don't forget to add a black leather front hood LeBra, repalce the headlight with aftermarket factory insert 9005 9006 headlights, and maybe even some Terrazza rear lights and it will look as modern as any car today. Don't go crazy with the exhaust or muffler or you will blow the heads or engine, but a decent factory compliant muffler and exhaust will do you just fine for years.
