Question type: Maintenance & Repair
It happened out of nowhere with no warning before today. I don't know if it's the computer,
transmission, the fuel, the entire damn car. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also
if anyone knows if there's a way I could do a quick check on the transmission to see if it's
going out. Thanks.
This sounds mechanical in nature. If your transmission is low on fluid, it will rev, but not go. Have the fluid checked. If it is a sensor, have the codes read for any abnormal readings. Your saying the car stops moving but the engine revs to 7,000 RPMs and kicks into gear but hardly goes? If that is so, it has to be low fluid or perhaps the torque converter or pumps are bad.
And if it is low on fluid, you need to find out why. Even if you manage to get it moving again it needs to go straight to a transmission shop to have the problem diagnosed. These things only get worse.
