any info on 68 bonne 3spd standard

Question type: General

I have a 68 2dr bonne with an original 3spd manual trans and a 400 i was
wondering if anybody had any info on productiin #s on this particular
transmission thanks

Well, it's good to see someone else with one of these old things. I have one myself. The tranny should be the Turbo-Hydramatic 400 (just happens to go with the 400 engine) same as my car. I know this is a very strong transmission and was used in lots of GM vehicles. Sorry I can't give any specific production numbers off hand but I know they are by no means rare.

No i have a 3 speed manual not automatic i know th400s arent rare but how rare is a 3 spd manual

I would say again they aren't super rare but all that common. Most of these cars I've seen have had the automatic. BUT I think the manual like your car has might have been more common in the GTO or Firebird.

Thanks for your info but i did some digging online and found out of 98,005 passenger cars not including the wagons only 208 were equipped with manual transmissions
