VIN decoding

Question type: General

Need help decoding the VIN on a 1971 firebird  224871L113607.   I know the 71 means the year and L means Los Angeles plant, but not quite sure of the other numbers.  Thanks for any help you can give.

I'm pretty sure the 113607 is the production # like ur car is the 113607 car made u can try and go to "first generation firebird" website and there is a spot in there where it decodes that nunber for u

ok the 224 is the series 224= Esprit the 87 is the body 87=coupe the 1 is the year 1=1971 the L is the assembly plant L=Van Nuys,California the next 1 is the engine 1=V8 the 13607 is the sequential prodution number 13607=thats your number of car made
