My Firebird falls asleep at stop lights . . . Help!

My '79 Firebird w/ a 4.9 ltr slowly stops running when I'm sitting at a stop light.  Otherwise, the car runs and drives fine.  When sitting at a light, the RPMs slowly decrease until the engine stops.  Anybody have any ideas?
