how to adjust passing gear cable

Pontiac Grand Am 1985, need to adjuct the way the automatic transmission shifts gears

this is hard to decribe, but maybe it will help it is actually quite easy--there's a little tab where it hooks to the throttle body and you can release it there to snap back, then all you do is step on the gas pedal to the floor -- that adjust your kickdown -- might help to unhook the cable from the TB first to release it and then hook it back up to adjust it
