Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car is making a clanking noise when I crank it up. It says low oil
pressure, si I did put 3 qts in it. This did not fix problem. It is still running
low! or so it reads. Normally 2 months after oil change it isn't running this
low on oil? The only way it stays crunk when I do start it is keeping my foot
on gas pedal. When I stop at red light it cuts off. It isn't running hot. But I
haven't been able to drive it much of anywhere. Can anyone tell me what
might be wrong and if it's even worth fixing? I've only been paying on it for
a year. So its not mine yet. However the dealership says I'm over my 9
month warranty. So they can't help me fix it. So I will have to put it in shop,
pay car payment still, and pay insurance still. This bites!! Please any
advice!!!! I have kids and myself without a ride now.

I'd have the "clanking noise" diagnosed first, before replacing the oil pressure switch located right above the oil filter.
