2006 trailblazer stuck in neutral

Asked by Eleanor Jul 21, 2018 at 04:23 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Question type: General

We came to Home Depot with a trailer. I was backing up, stopped to go to
drive, it went into neutral and stuck there. I pushed the car a couple of feet
and tried again. What is wrong? We are still here.

Shift cable to tranny is likely broke or disconnected. It's not something that can be fixed without crawling under truck. Looks like you may need to get it towed to a shop for repairs.
