I have one. Just put it up for sale yesterday. It is in pretty good condition, had some minor body work and a new paint job in '91. 39k original miles. Convertible top in good condition (no stains or tears) Has original top motor which still works great. Needs some clutch work, but definitely drivable. Interior in good shape. Asking $7,500 OBO. Feel free to email me at dsgeorge_web@wowway.com if you are interested and I'll send some additional pictures.

The 63 Lemans, although it has a 326 emblem, has a 389 in it. When Delorean designed this car he was putting 389’s in it but General Motors told him he has to stop because they didn’t want the engine to be bigger than the corvette which was a 327 and also their best seller, so they made a deal that he would put 389’s in this year only but put the 326 emblem. Just a little bit of history

63 Lemans never got the 389. Nope, never happened.

vrr is correct--there were no 389's in the 63 Tempests. On the other hand, the 326 was actually 336 cubic inches but Pontiac simply chose to call it a 326 so as not to offend the divas at Chevrolet and the GM brass. Someone discovered the name game and Pontiac had to reduce the engine's size to an actual 326 cubic inches for 1964 but then DeLorean and his engineers changed the game by putting the 389 into GTO's.
