He is right, I own the same car (year make model and color)...
Well, technically the two previous responses are “somewhat” correct. But, to make it sound like they are very common or cheap to purchase is well BS! I owned ‘70 Sport find one in decent condition you will pay for it! Mine was Gold I am still looking for a 1970 Pontiac Lemans Sport. Man I miss mine!
I have one it was gold 1970 pon sport .
Have one for sale beautiful 13000 original miles garage kept straight head turner and fast
Have one everything original had a radio installed in the glove box still has the drum brakes not a scratch on it
And all the original paperwork and build sheet 1970 drop top 2dr
Bunches of LeMans vehicles were built, base model, 2dr Coupe, 2dr Hardtop Coupe, Sport Coupe, Sport 2dr Hardtop coupe, Convertible, 4dr Lemans etc. But to answer your specific question there were exactly 1635 1970 Lemans Sport 2dr Hardtop Coupes built. It is a very rare car. Don't be fooled by people who think they know thing and don't! BTW I bought mine this way and no, it doesn't have the Judge stripes anymore. Went with the factory optional D98 stripe. I'm sure the "experts" know exactly what that is. LOL!
I had one with the factory 4 speed hurst.... that was rare....shouldn't have sold it
Had a 70 sport coupe. Dropped the turbo hydromatic tranny and installed a Muncie 4 speed out of a 69 GTO. Added a hurst shifter and wham, what a vehicle. Only difference as I recall was the pressure plate. No free play with the GTO plate installed.
3 speed Hurst manual transmission red black vinyl top missing it to this day and always.
