Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Killin me here.  1973 Luxury Lemans 350 v8.  Trying
to replace belts, even in my repair manual is
doesn’t say how to take off crankshaft belt which is
in front of the alternator belt that is in front of the ac
compressor belt I need to replace.  I loosened the
alternator bracket and that is all good but it didn’t
affect my crankshaft belt.  Any help will be super
appreciated.  Thank you.

A 1973 car typically will not have a single serpentine belt like today's cars. You will need to loosen the mount mounting hardware for each pulley driven component starting with the one furthest from the engine block and work your way back to the belt you need to remove and then reverse the order to get is all back together. Most brakets have some tightening slides so there is no need to disconnect things completely - just loosen and create slack in the belts you need to.This is the way I did it on my 73 Sport Coup without AC.
