Windshield needs re sealed
If you have a sunroof, your drain holes are plugged. Open sun roof, and in each corner, there should be two little drain holes on each side closest to the windshield. If you have no sunroof, then your A/C drain may be plugged. Find the drain tube, and run a piece of clothes hanger through it to get out any debris.
Could be the pollen filter actually. If seal is broken it could be letting water in through the vent ducts down below, hence just the carpeting being wet and not the seats.
All it is mate the vents are blocked and water over flows with water just needs cleaning out and that will stop the water. Happened to my c30
The vents are blocked just needs cleaning out and it will stop the water but you will have to take window wipes off to get to the vent the water goes down the front window and in the side vent.
My 2005 v50 leaked on both sides of the floorboards I found to small holes in the gasket wher the luggage rack Barack meets the windshield.
The Sun Roof will cause this because of debris built up in the drain tubes. Use a length of heavy weed wacker string .090 or so does the trick. I found this solution on YouTube... along with how to extend the tubing as it comes a little on the short side from the factory.
