2007 Chrysler 300 fuel pump

We changed the fuel pump in a 2007 Chrysler 300 and ever since, there is a
terrible gas smell inside the car and the gas gauge wont work. We have
checked the seal and it is fine.

sounds like something was done incorrectly when you installed the fuel pump and reconnected the fill hose or a fuel line.
