‘07 T&C, Not Starting

Asked by Retcarahc Jan 12, 2021 at 05:08 PM about the 2007 Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

⚠️ WARNING! ⚠️
Long story to follow, in seek of help from
someone mechanically inclined, with
suggestions for an ‘07 Town and Country that
is not starting...

I started it and it ran like sh*t for like 5secs
before it died!? Repeated like 3x, even while
pressing accelerator. ‍♂️

Thought it was misfire, so I replaced plugs
and wires, and then it went to nothing at all!?
☠️
Replaced battery, got back power to radio,
but still not starting...not even a tick!?

Just replaced ignition coil, which was a pain
due to power steering fluid reservoir, and still
not starting!?⚡️

Really weird part is that when I turn the key,
everything shuts off and makes a real subtle
like honk or humming sound (thought it was
horn first time)!?
Remote, locks, windows, and what not are not
working either, but radio does!?

I worry it is either a fuel supply or security
issue!?
I can’t hear whether or not the fuel pump is
priming due to the dinging when key is
turned!?

Any thoughts, suggestions, or opinions would
be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the exact same thing going on with my van. Seems to be a anti theft thing. I have gotten to run as normal by resetting the system by taking the positive cable off battery, using manuel key to unlock and lock drivers door wait 15 mins then hook batteries back up and start . Runs great untill I shut it off then I have to do this all over again. Each time takes a little longer than the next. I have not tried this yet but I just found another reset option is, use actual key in driver's door , lock and unlock door DO NOT TAKE KEY OUT RIGHT AWAY instead hold the key in the unlock position for 30 second then pull out and start van. Let me know how this works.
