Why wont my Chevy Colorado do over 70 mph. And running hotter than normal

Have you tried cleaning the throttle body intake? Air filter? Checked for water in the oil? Check for water in the oil first. Also try resetting the computer. Never had this problem with mine but sounds like a head gasket.
