Is the clutch on its way out?

My partners Santa Fe has started to accelerate slow. Sometimes it sounds and feels like
the clutch is on its way out as it sometimes over revs when accelerating on gear change
but other times it drive without a hitch. Is this common symptom for a worn clutch?

On a manual transmission car, your clutch should engage immediately once you let your foot up on the pedal. And, you should not be hearing the engine rev up. Yes, something is wrong, definitely. So, you've had this car for some time or purchased it new? I'm sure it never did that before. Just how many miles do you have on your car? Clutch replacement is common especially if you do a lot of city stop and go driving. Typically it's around 100,000 miles or so. Depends a lot on how you drive.

2007 Manuel box Santa Fe 2-2 engine,putting it into gear is getting difficult, Does this mean I have clutch problems or maybe gearbox at fault.
