car won't start

Also has a new battery in it
A car won't fire for 2 reasons: no gas, or no spark- have a mechanic check it- most likely suspects are a fuel pump or an ignition module
Fuel pump and ignition module checked, still won't start
OK- I learn every day- a friend called and asked me to look at her 2003 Honda- it was turning over but not firing- I couldn't do a diagnosis on a dirt road up in the freezing cold mountains so I told her to just call AAA- when the tow truck driver came, he suggested trying another key- that started it- how hard is it to be a Car Guru when a faulty key?! can keep a vehicle from starting? I long for the old days-
