Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Howdy, have an 88 944 NA all options except sunroof.  Thinking of doing the engine mounts and redoing the front seats.  Any suggestions for redoing or replacing the front seats?  Have a few shops here in Northern VA do some of the work, I have done a lot of repairs myself, also.  If any one has suggestions for shops here in the Northern VA area by Fort Belvoir please share.

I would just check the floor to make sure you can re-mount or at least keep the seat fastened, when i was looking for a few 944 for racing i found probably 3 that had rust and in a bad enough crash the seat would have to rely on the safety cage to stay put. But to answer the question i would get some comfortable race seats for the fun gives it that sporty yet fun look.

I had the same problem in my 86. i wanted to get the seats redone, but the seats wouldn't slide forward and back because i soon found out it was jammed up with 10$ in quarters. But did get them out, and welded in a mount for the seat to go back in. passenger side seat was perfectly fine to get out for some reason and there was no damage there. but all you need to do is take out those 4 bolys in each of the seat corners, and its easy from there
