Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2005 chevy trailblazer battery light came on
while I was driving to work and my car slowly died
but I made it into a parking lot, it started again now
about an hour later. What's wrong with it?

charge the battery fully and have it load tested. then with engine running, use a multimeter to test the alternator by using the volts dc setting. engine running at the battery should give you over 14 volts. if not then it is likely an alternator problem.

Use a multimeter, battery should be around 12v DC with car off. Car on, should be around 14v DC. If both check out, have the battery load tested as suggested above. A weak battery will cause problems too.

With engine running, it's the generator that should carry the load. Make sure battery has a full charge and connections all good. I did see some trouble codes listed for generator. Any applicable trouble codes. I saw three B1 codes listed and one po code.
