What raceing oil weight is best for chevy truck avalanche 1500 5.3L 2 wd 2004

You do NOT need racing oil for a 5.3 Chevy motor. Run what the manufacturer specifies. If you want some extra protection, run synthetic such as Mobil1 at the manufacturer specified grade (pretty sure it is 5w30).
