my oil pressure gauge shows 80 but digital gauge shows 120 on my 2002 chevy corvette. should i be worried?

Are you checking the oil pressure with a separate gauge then? And yes too much oil pressure can cause damage to the bearings. There is like a check valve in the oil filter housing that should be checked, cleaned.
