Oil sensor 2007 Yukon XL 5.3

Asked by Mikeber Jan 03, 2017 at 11:58 PM about the 2007 GMC Yukon XL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Yukon XL with a hundred and
forty-two Thousand Miles. I replace the oil
pressure sending unit about 45 days ago.
Just last week the low oil pressure sensor
came back on. A trusted mechanic drop the
oil pan and indicated there was a handful or
two of oil sludge in the pan. Indicated that I
had a major engine issue Brewing. Would
like your thoughts. Never had any issues
starting or knock. Would like your opinion on
what to do next.

Totally agree, and the low oil pressure reading would be from that plugged screen under the oil pressure sending unit, as tennisshoes mentioned.

The screen, it is all about the screen under the oil pressure sensor.

I had the sending unit changed on a 2014 gmc yukon about a month ago, and the light came back on...I had the code read at o'Reilly and it said oil pressure sensor. On o'Reilly computer in the notes it said replace unit or dip stick...ikr...So I put a piece of napkin around my dip stick and put it back it tight...Started my truck light went off..
