Trouble driving after going through water.

Asked by GuruBH4H Apr 12, 2020 at 04:10 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Impala

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The car will start and drive for about 20ft before it stops. When put into drive
or reverse the car doesn't seem to go anywhere. I can turn the car off and
start it again and the same thing will happen I put it in drive and it will drive for
about 20ft before stopping again.

Some electrical connections are probably wet. How deep was the water? You would will have to dry out the car, so to speak. I would also check the oil and transmission fluid to see if water somehow seeped in.
